In Morroco, a tribute to Delacroix (Mai, 24 to June, 17)
Sanary-sur-Mer at Salle Barthélémy

In Morocco, Delacroix painted and drew according to the nature, and in this way experienced lights, colors, shapes, horses and horse-riders, faces and bodies.
The eye of Delacroix easily remembered a scene that just disappeared, and this guided the painter’s hand.

The camera of Rondeau records the different shapes that move in front of him, following an order and composition determined by the photographer. These two practices are intimately similar in the nature of their journey: they share an approach to travel focused on seeing rather than on simply visiting.

In order to see behind the surface.Their travel notes and sketches betray an immediacy and necessity for keeping a trace of these small miracles in mind. These, at clear points, make the space organized and structured, according to mysterious lines of force full of visual interest.

République (Republic)
Gérard Rondeau, Raphaëlle Bacqué

Two comporary and famous authors write
about a fragile ideal:the Republic

published by Le Seuil, 2011

Raphaëlle Bacqué is a journalist who has started working at the newspaper Le Monde, first as an editor in the political department, now as a special correspondent. Well-known for his political investigations, she wrote among others “La femme fatale” about Segolene Royal, “Chirac ou le démon du pouvoir”, “L’enfer de Matignon – Ce sont eux qui en parlent le mieux”, and “Le dernier mort de Mitterrand”.

Gérard Rondeau explored the inner workings of museums for twenty years; for fifteen years, he accompanied the missions of Médecins du Monde doctors all over the world, the same amount of time to accompany the painter Paul Rebeyrolle… Gérard Rondeau has assembled stories, reconstituted trajectories “When you take time to look, everything connects”, he says. His books and his exhibitions resemble intimate journals, novels. This is how Rondeau commits himself. And with what commitment supposes of patience.
